Move on up

( Curtis Mayfield, 1970)

Another week of progress.  The contractors have been working their way upwards from the foundations, and the garden room now has walls and a ceiling,...

.. windows looking out to the garden, ...

.. and a doorway, which is always useful.

It also seems that shitty kitty has returned, though this time leaving only a few paw marks in the concrete.

Meanwhile, the garden has - rather as expected - become a wasteland of concrete and junk.  We are very pleased that we covered up the earth with old lino and carpets.

But it's still touch or go whether the hydrangea will make it.  After a narrow escape from a stray shovelfull of cement, we have wrapped it in pink ribbon, in a vain attempt to identify it as something to preserve.  We have also sent a message to the contractors, so hopefully that should do it.

if the hydrangea doesn't make it I'll buy you a new one as a house warming present.

(If they let me bring it through the tunnel.)
